2008 GSO PATIENT SATISFACTION SURVEY
In the Spring of 2008, Gastroenterology Specialists of Oregon completed their first Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patient Satisfaction Surveys have been conducted in the Endoscopy Center after a patient's procedure, but a survey had not be done for patients who had had office visits. Approximately 500 surveys were handed out, and 193 surveys were returned; for a response rate of 38.6%.
Below is a summary of GSO results:

The majority of patients felt the providers and staff were caring, courteous and had a positive attitude.
What do we need to improve?
Most patients had not visited GSO's webpage and were unaware of the valuable patient resources available on the webpage. A few patients comments that we did not provide adequate communication when there were schedule delays.
What did we change?
We will be launching some web based and email tools in 2009 (i.e. lab results via email and online payment systems). We have also conducted training sessions with staff to improve our communication when schedule delays occur. |
