Gastroenterology Clinics
In addition to diagnosing and treating problems, Gastroenterology Specialists of Oregon provides prevention and early detection procedures, including endoscopy, which uses narrow, flexible lighted tubes with built-in video cameras to inspect the inside of the intestinal tract.
Our physicians are specially trained to perform colonoscopies (scope of the large intestine), upper endoscopies (scope of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum), endoscopic ultrasounds and other sophisticated endoscopic procedures.
Appointments
To schedule an appointment, please call 503-692-3750 during our office hours, which are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Please arrive for your appointment at least 15 minutes early, and bring your referral forms (if required), insurance information and co-payments. We will automatically request your medical information from your primary care provider before your visit. When you schedule, please let us know if you’ve had any relevant x-rays, ultrasounds or other imaging studies.
Medical emergencies may cause unexpected delays in our schedule. Your patience and understanding are appreciated. If you must cancel or re-schedule your appointment, please call us as soon as possible.
Prescription refills
For a prescription refill, call your pharmacy and they will fax us the refill request. Please allow three business days for a refill to be processed by our staff. Our office policy requires that we see patients once a year before continuing to refill prescriptions. At the time of your last refill, we’ll ask that you make an appointment for medication evaluation.
For mail order prescriptions, it’s your responsibility to call in, fax or mail the prescription directly to your mail order company. We can mail you the written prescription to submit to the mail order pharmacy, or you can pick it up at our office.
If you’re prescribed a medication that’s not on your insurance plan’s formulary or ‘preferred’ list, the pharmacy will receive a rejection notice when entering the prescription. Your pharmacist will fax us a request, which may take up to seven days for insurance approval. Please allow adequate time for this process.
Financial policy
As a courtesy, we will file your insurance claim. In return, we ask that you provide us with up-to-date information, including your current address, telephone numbers and insurance information. Please help us keep your insurance information current. We will request a referral or authorization from your insurance company and/or primary care physician. We’ll contact you if we’re notified of a denial.
Co-payments required by your insurance plan are due at the time of service. Failure to pay the required co-pay, or lack of a referral at the time of service, will result in cancellation and re-scheduling of your appointment.
You are responsible for deductibles, co-payments, or other charges not paid by your insurance. If you’re facing financial difficulties, please request a meeting with one of our account representatives to discuss payment options. It’s your responsibility to ask questions regarding the cost of your care.
We accept cash, personal check, MasterCard and Visa. You can also pay online! For additional information about our billing policy, please see the section called New Patient Info.
